The Arc Sullivan-Orange Counties Awarded $67,000 in Grants from NYSARC Trust Services

To support guardianship and recreational opportunities for people with disabilities in Orange & Sullivan County.

Monticello, NY – June 24, 2020 – The Arc Sullivan-Orange Counties, a not-for-profit organization supporting people with disabilities in Orange and Sullivan County, has been awarded $67,000 in grants from the Trustee Management Board of NYSARC Trust Services to support The Arc Sullivan-Orange County’s guardianship and recreation programs.

NYSARC Trust Services administers supplemental needs trusts (SNT) and pooled trusts that can make dramatic improvements to the lives of people with disabilities by enabling individuals to maintain eligibility for Medicaid and other means-tested government benefit programs. For 2020, NYSARC Trust Services is proud to fulfill its commitment to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities by awarding a total of $2,636,000 in grants to The Arc New York Chapters statewide.

This year, The Arc Sullivan-Orange Counties received $67,000 to provide guardianship services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who would not otherwise have a legal guardian or advocate.

NYSARC Trust Services awarded The Arc Sullivan-Orange $67,000 to support new recreational opportunities and enrich the lives of the individuals it serves. The Arc Sullivan-Orange plans to use the recreation grants funds to offset a recreation program in Orange County that provides services to people that don’t qualify for the typical respite programs.
