The Arc Greater Hudson Valley Awarded $110,710 in Grants from NYSARC Trust Services To support guardianship and recreational opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Sullivan, Orange, and Dutchess Counties
The Arc Greater Hudson Valley, a nonprofit organization that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has been awarded $110,710 in grants from the Trustee Management Board of NYSARC Trust Services to support guardianship and recreational programs.
NYSARC Trust Services administers supplemental needs trusts (SNT) and pooled trusts that can make meaningful improvements and contributions to the lives of people with disabilities by enabling individuals to maintain financial eligibility for Medicaid and other means-tested government benefit programs. For 2024, NYSARC Trust Services proudly awarded a total of $110,710 in grants to The Arc New York Chapters statewide, honoring its commitment to enhance the lives of people with disabilities.
This year, The Arc Greater Hudson Valley received $92,350 to provide guardianship services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, who would not otherwise have a legal guardian or advocate. Supported by dedicated community volunteers and chapter staff, The Arc Greater Hudson Valley’s Guardianship Program currently provides guardianship support and services to 14 individuals and is ready to assist 24 more as a Standby or Alternate Standby Guardian.
NYSARC Trust Services also awarded $18,360 to The Arc Greater Hudson Valley to develop recreational opportunities to enrich the lives of people supported. These funds will be used for activities such as overnight vacations, holiday parties, day trips, and also to purchase recreational equipment.
